Sunsets soft orange like fresh peach skin,
Ocean mist carries salt throughout the Oak harbor
Air smells of brine and tart green apples, heavy enough to savor.
Fragile breath meets lips, to light the way.
Practical Magic is of it all, spellbinding
To wish and believe
Cherish –
Rosemary, lavender, lilacs, and salt
Because they come from Earth,
as we all do
Destined to return
As we all are.
Which is to say –
I love you
Even if I’m bound
To circle full moons
A thousand times, alone
Before your heart answers my call,
Hears the crash of an ocean song
Knows, that song is the silver star leading home.
In honor of one of my favorite times of year, Halloween, I’m sharing a poem everyday in October inspired by Classic(ish) Halloween films. 3/31
