The Strangers (2008)

Silk slips softer than red velvet cake
Which I still taste upon your lips, like the sum of every yesterday
and tomorrow yet to come.

I don’t know the right way to worship your heart – as if it were my own or as if it were the only barrier between our bodies.

Let time be measured in how we sway; twirl like records, playing to the groove against my spine.

I will love you until our fingers turn bone –
I will love you, like a stranger never could.

In honor of one of my favorite times of year, Halloween, I’m sharing a poem everyday in October inspired by Classic(ish) Halloween films. 1/31
