I shall bind us together, as mannequins
Fuse which does not belong,
Sweet as the sight of rosebuds
Fragile as their petals
I shall walk against the shores of a raging sea
Turn my body into salt water
As to feed the sharks my flesh
I shall tell you all my lies and my truths
Let you caress each jagged edge, until they soften like bird feathers
Wish for you to let them go, be carried with the gust of wind
Like heartbeats pacing back-and-forth, like rivers rushing in –
I wish for you to let them go, but rather you bury them
Beneath your skin.
In honor of one of my favorite times of year, Halloween, I’m sharing a poem everyday in October inspired by Classic(ish) Halloween films. 2/31
